The government in Taiwan has approved the Taiwan Chip-based Industrial Innovation Program and has earmarked a total of around US$10 billion for the program's implementation between 2024 and 2033. Printed Circuit Board (PCB), closely related to the semiconductor chip manufacturing and testing industry, is often referred to as the "mother of electronic products." The PCB industry in Taiwan has a global market share of 32.8% (2021), which is No. 1 in the world. The College of Engineering in YZU established the Smart Electronic Product Manufacturing Program through collaboration among various departments and interdisciplinary integration in order to cultivate talents in PCB manufacturing and to attract outstanding international students to study in Taiwan.
